The subprime crisis in the US has left its housing industry pretty scarred and it is taking a long time to recover. The rate of unemployment is still too high for comfort and as long as this does not come down, people would not feel confident about going for fresh mortgage loans. Hence total recovery in the housing market in the US is still some time away.

The global recession saw real estate asset prices plummeting in most Western countries due to the after effects of the subprime crisis and due to improper financial prudence exercised by lending institutions in some of these countries. France was one of the very few European countries that did not go through a financial crisis due to better management of its banks.

Marketing property for sale, is a service provided by an Estate Agent, and a solicitor prepares the legal documents. Solicitors can act as estate agents but the practice is rare in England and Wales.
